$6 is the minimum purchase and gets you 120,000 tokens. You can think of tokens as pieces of words. For English text, 1 token is approximately 4 characters or 0.75 words.

For example, the request “Tell me a joke.” Cost 4 tokens.

Tokens will also be applied to the cost of the text message service at a rate of 800 tokens per exchange.
